How To Make Ubuntu Look like a Mac. A stack of mac GTK themes, icon sets, fonts and cursors are available for Linux, just a quick Google away. The ones included below are the ones we use/think give you the best Mac-like look on your Linux box, But don’t be afraid to explore DeviantArt, GitHub and other avenues if our choices don’t quite match with your tastes. Download the fonts from here: Mirror 1 Mirror 2. Then, for an easy one command installation, simply paste the following command in a terminal (firstly 'cd' to the directory where you downloaded the fonts archive'): tar zxvf macfonts.tar.gz && sudo cp -r macfonts/ /usr/share/fonts/ && sudo fc-cache -f -v. The solution (more like a workaround) was to enclose fonts in a suitcase. The suitcase itself was counted as only one item by the OS in the Fonts folder; so you could open dozens or hundreds of fonts by enclosing them in a suitcase. Having fonts enclosed in a suitcase was also the only way the Mac OS would recognize fonts before OS X.

Choosing a font to use in your editor is a very important step in your workflow that many developers don't think twice about. Small things like the difference between 0 vs o or l vs 1

If you are still using the default that came with your editor, it might be worth checking out a few below and see how you like coding with each of them.
Since talking about text editor configuration is a huge interest of mine, This list has been compiled over the last year talking to developers at meetups and on twitter. So while the list isn't totally complete, It's a great reflection of what developers are using these days.
